The Bethlehem Fire Department responds to a wide variety of emergencies throughout the City of Bethlehem. Ensuring the safety of our residents and visitors is our top priority. We put great emphasis on fire prevention and public fire safety education. Our motivated team of fire fighters and fire officers have one common goal and that is to provide the most efficient services possible.

Through the use of state of the art equipment and ongoing training, our dedicated group of professionals provide fire suppression activities, vehicle accident mitigation and emergency medical response in support of our EMS department. Three separate special teams enhance our capabilities to provide Hazardous Materials mitigation, Water Rescue and Hazardous Device disposal.

The Fire Inspections department, under the direction of Deputy Fire Chief Craig Baer, are available to conduct hundreds of fire safety inspections yearly throughout the city. The inspectors enforce the International Fire Code 2009, which is has been adopted by city ordinance. As appointed Fire Marshal for the City of Bethlehem, Deputy Chief Baer also oversees a division of N.F.P.A trained fire investigators who duties are to conduct an origin and cause investigation on every fire within the City of Bethlehem.

The Fire Department also conducts fire safety programs which include; home inspections, free smoke detector program, station tours, and various adult and children fire prevention programs.
