Community Services Unit The Community Services Unit consists of a Sergeant and 9 Officers. These Officers operate out of various sub-stations throughout the City, Police Headquarters and Schools. The Crime Prevention Officers is attached to this Unit. There are 6 School Resource Officers (SRO) in Bethlehem. Two are assigned to the Liberty High School campus and one at each Middle School (Nitschman, Broughal, Northeast and East Hills). They work hand in hand with BASD Staff, students and parents in providing security and special services at all BASD schools. The Unit also has 3 Officers who work out of the various sub-stations in the City. One Officer works out of the Downtown Substation on West Raspberry Street and the other two Officers (a Bethlehem City Officer and a Lehigh University Police Officer) work out of the Joint Bethlehem/Lehigh Sub-Station on S. New Street on the south side. This Unit works with many other Units within the Police Department; the BHA Unit, CID Unit and other outside agencies in providing social services and also law enforcement services to all the different communities that make up the City of Bethlehem.
